REPOA is an independent policy research institution established in 1994 to undertake research, capacity building, and promote evidence-informed policy development on various aspects of socio-economic transformation for inclusive economic growth and sustained poverty alleviation. It is one of the leading research organizations in Tanzania, and among the top Think Tanks in Sub-Saharan Africa. REPOA believes that evidence-informed policy dialogue and development is necessary for effective planning and designing of interventions for accelerating socioeconomic transformation for inclusive development.
REPOA is currently seeking applications from a qualified individual to fill the position of a Senior Resource Mobilization Officer.
REPOA is currently seeking applications from a qualified individual to fill the position of a Senior Resource Mobilization Officer.
The Senior Resource Mobilization Officer is expected to support REPOA’s Management in implementing a robust resource mobilization strategy, aiming at raising funds from multiple sources for implementing its strategic plan and fulfilling the organization’s mission and objectives.
Summary of duties and responsibilities
Summary of duties and responsibilities
a. To identify sources of funding and mechanisms for accessing them
b. To formulate, review and monitor implementation of REPOA Resource mobilization strategy
c. To facilitate the review of guidelines for writing research proposals and reports, generally and for specific targets as appropriate
d. To facilitate the review of grants proposals to ensure they are within the guidelines and are of acceptable quality
e. To support the monitoring unit by ensuring that appropriate reporting and timelines are observed in line with contractual obligations to the funders
f. To coordinate the preparation of the strategic plan and its strategy of communication to the development partners and other strategic funding agencies
g. To coordinate the preparation of annual operational plans and budgets
h. To support the monitoring unit in capturing key outcomes of REPOA’s work to support resource mobilization initiatives
i. To manage, maintain and coordinate institutional contracts with external parties, particularly those providing core grants for institutional support and those providing multi-year grants for collaborative research and institutional development
j. To propose innovative financing options for institutional sustainability, including research endowment
k. To support the Executive Director as a key link with development partners and other funding organizations
l. To assist the Management and research departments in preparing grant proposals
m. To represent the organization in donor meetings and to follow-up existing and new commitments from prospective funders
n. To undertake any other function as may be assigned by the Management as part of the team’s efforts to fulfil organizational objectives

Qualifications and experience
A masters degree in social sciences or other relevant fields with a minimum of five years of experience in grants management, resource mobilization, project management, and in monitoring and evaluation. The candidate must also demonstrate excellent communication skills, ability to work in a multicultural environment, interpersonal skills, and strong teamwork orientation. Background in social science research and previous work experience and interaction with development partners and/or philanthropies will be an added advantage
